Hi. I'm upgrading the wrap-around bridge in my cheap-ish no-name brand electric guitar, and the one I am putting in needs to be positioned a bit further back due to the location of the saddles on the new bridge. The only thing I am unsure of in this project is how to go about touching up (painting, etc.) the exposed new dowels in the old post holes so that, at the very least, they are not too noticeable, and preferably, well matched.

If the guitar was black, then it would be easy, unfortunately, the guitar is kind of a baby blue colour. Should I search out and find some kind of touch-up paint or fingernail lacquer, or ?? Any suggestions?

Worst case, I will completely refinish it, and that's not too big a deal either. I'd just rather do something quicker/easier.

Try looking through the touch up paint at the local auto parts store.

I used to have boxes of little touch-up paint bottles, and various hues of nailpolish.
Around bridge studs, I also used thin stick-on pickguard material, usually black.
Think ring around the pickup selector on a Les Paul.
